A choir at the cutting edge

Steel City Choristers is sustaining excellence in Sheffield’s all-age choral tradition, while innovating to share the joys of choral music with children and audiences across the city.

We apprentice children aged 6-18 from any background into our choral community through a free first-class musical education. The focus, teamwork and resilience our Choristers learn through their intensive musical training sets them up for life. Their dedication means that we can perform regularly for a diverse range of communities. We also deliver curriculum-linked singing workshops in Sheffield schools.

The secret of our success

We can only sing at the standard we do because of the professional musical direction and tuition we provide free to our choristers, and their amazing dedication and commitment.

Nurturing Sheffield’s young musical talent costs us around £1,000 p.a. per chorister. The children commit over 200 hours each year to rehearsals, individual singing lessons and up to 30 performances for audiences and congregations across the city.

We also reach thousands of school children each year through the free singing workshops we provide to Sheffield schools.

We are looking for organisations that share our values and would be proud to build a relationship with us. We need financial or in-kind support to ensure our charitable work continues to benefit Sheffield’s children for years to come.

Our offer to sponsors of Steel City Choristers

We have a tiered offer for our sponsors:

• From £1,000, we offer the opportunity to have your brand in front of a diverse range of Sheffield audiences, including your logo on our concert programmes and profile on our website, and a sponsor badge for your use online and in print.
• From £2,500, we also offer an ad in our concert programmes and a private performance for your staff and clients.
• From £5,000, we also offer a team-building singing workshop for your staff with our Director of Music and singers and are open to your additional suggestions.
