Steel City Choristers is keen to build close partnerships with a small number of schools in Sheffield. Working together, we can inspire more children to sing, and find and support those who have the passion and potential to sing to a really high standard. Steel City Choristers can enhance the delivery of music education in your school, and you can signpost to us any children that you think would value the opportunity to become a chorister.

We would be very happy to meet or speak to discuss possibilities, and take a first step towards partnership by coming to lead a singing assembly, free of charge with no strings attached. 

Where there is the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership, we can continue working with you free of charge to deliver further high quality music-education activities. We will discuss and design these with you to meet your needs. They might include one of our music team working with a single class, a whole assembly, or an existing school choir. Our resources for schools are suitable for non-music specialists, and designed to help you follow up on our sessions and continue to help children develop key musical skills.

Steel City Choristers provides a high standard of music education including twice-weekly rehearsals, weekly singing lessons, group music theory lessons and a wide variety of around 40 performance opportunities a year, as well as ad hoc tours in this country and overseas. In 2026-27 we will be singing for communities all around Sheffield, and also in Durham Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.

We train and inspire children to sing to professional standards, and the concentration and teamwork skills they develop equip them for success throughout their lives.

Our partner schools will be proud to associate with Steel City Choristers and will actively promote to their pupils the opportunity and benefits of joining our choir. This may include distributing digital or paper flyers about our recruitment events such as Pizza Rehearsals, Be a Chorister at Christmas, family-friendly concerts, and Come & Sing Evensongs. We would also appreciate the opportunity to hold short pre-auditions in school with any interested children who love to sing.
